Short bio

Created in 1987 as a component of the Cultural Circle of the European Communities in
Luxembourg, the vocal ensemble "Eurocantica" undeniably draws its specificity from the diversity of
members who compose it. With around forty people, the group brings together
choristers from almost all the Member States of the European Union. Some come from
European institutions based in Luxembourg, others from the private, educational or associative sector, all
have in common a love of music and singing.
Directed by Andy Loor since 2015, the ensemble covers an extremely varied repertoire ranging from
baroque music to the most contemporary works. Thus, after the production of "Der Geiger
von Echternach” by the Luxembourg composer Lou Koster, Eurocantica also sang well
film music, gospels or Tolga Kashif's "Queen Symphony", as well as works
classical and baroque works such as Haydn's "Requiem", Homilius' "Weihnachstoratorium" or
well again Telemann.
In order to enrich its programs, the ensemble sometimes joins the Estro Armonico orchestra or other
choirs such as the Sängerbond Diekirch Municipal Choir, Sängerbond Helvetia Tandel or
the Ambitus set for larger projects.
